Alice R. Cerocke,
Age 85 of Hodgkin, Illinois, passed away on Friday morning, December 29, 2023, at Salem Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born October 27, 1938 in Chicago, IL, Alice was a daughter of Aloysius B. and Helena (Née Schultz) Cerocke. She was raised in the Chicago area, graduated from St. Rita High School in 1955, attended two years of commercial college where she learned bookkeeping, accounting and data base entry skills.
Alice worked in Retail Sales as an Office Manager for numerous companies and retired from Nestle Corporation in 2006 after 15 years of dedicated service.
Alice was fortunate to have lived in Atlanta, Georgia and Honolulu, Hawaii.
As a devout Catholic, Alice prayed the rosary daily and was very active and involved in parish ministry as a Lector and Extraordinary Minister of Communion; especially in parishes when she lived out of state.
In her free time, she belonged to canasta card clubs and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad.
Alice loved her family dearly and always enjoyed being with them for holidays, birthdays and any occasion to celebrate. Her nieces and nephews were the love of her life and gave her much joy and purpose.
Survivors include her dedicated and devoted niece, Sharon Senser; great nieces, Brenda (Michael) Lazansky and Jennifer Kelly and great nephew, Michael Kelly; great-great nephew, MJ Lazansky, great-great niece, Emma Lazansky; best friends, Josephine “Jos” (Cyril) Regan, Margie & Elaine and the Davaronis family, Selma Bjerkley, Lynette Johnson, Karen Baumbach, Barbara Stanley, Joan Rubesch, Dennis & Jinny Paley; cousin, Rita Smolek, bonus nieces and nephews from the Senser family; god-children, Sydney Connor, David Regan, Andy Paley, Kim Hanawahine, Sean O’Connor, numerous friends who held a special place in Alice’s heart and numerous cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents, Aloysius B. and Helena Cerocke; brother, Richard Cerocke and sister, Lorraine (Donald) Kelly.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1711 Burry Circle Drive, Crest Hill, IL beginning at 10:15 a.m.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Anthony Nyamai, officiating.
Alice will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL following a private committal service.
