Derek J. Walsh

Age 39 of Joliet, IL, passed away tragically on Monday, March 21, 2022.

Born July 13, 1982 in Joliet, IL,

Derek was a son of John J. and Tamara L. (Née Marlow) Walsh.

He was raised, educated and a lifelong Joliet area resident.

Derek was a true entrepreneur. Gifted in carpentry, he enjoyed building decks, house remodeling, and helping others with any projects they needed assistance with.

He was an intellectual person and always enjoyed the challenge of learning as much on his own as he could in order to help others in need.    

In his free time, Derek wrote poetry, practiced yoga, enjoyed the outdoors, photography, four wheeling, dirt bike riding and riding his motorcycle.

His motto was to “Move forward and know that it will be a better day tomorrow.”                            

Survivors include his children; Jadyn Marie Walsh, Christian Joseph Walsh and Sebastian Jacob Vieyra, siblings; Tanya Walsh, Matthew (Jamie) Kealey and Debra Seiler; numerous nieces, a nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends. Derek will be truly missed by his loving family.

Derek was preceded in death by his parents; John J. and Tamara L. Walsh.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Derek’s life will be held in the near future. Details will be posted when they become available.
