Age 97 of Joliet, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Illinois Veterans’ Home in Manteno, IL.

Born August 29, 1927, in Joliet, John was a son of George V. and Catherine (Née Rogina) Buric. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Joliet Catholic High School, then served in the United States Army. John worked as a salesman in the printing industry for many years and retired from Joliet Republican Printing Company after 20 years of dedicated service. 

John played guitar over 60 years and was a member of the Music Men and Too Loud Polka Band. He also sat in with many other groups through the years and was featured on Al Pohler’s Memory Hour.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, VFW Cantigny Post #367, Troy Sportsman’s Club, Chaney Progressive Club and a former member of Moran AC.

Survivors include his brother; George Buric; four nephews, two nieces, as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews. 

John was preceded in death by his parents, George and Catherine Buric; wife, Mary (Née Juricic) Buric and sisters, Catherine Thorne and Anne (Bernard) Kozlowski. 

Relatives and friends are invited to meet at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 416 N. Chicago Street, Joliet, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Roger Kutzner, officiating.

John will be laid to rest in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL following military honors and committal services.
