Age 86 of Crest Hill, IL, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024 at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville.
Born January 24, 1938 in Chicago, Lucille was the daughter of Anthony and Angeline (Née Bertoletti) Braccolino. She was raised in the Roseland area, graduated from St. Willabrords Catholic School (1950) and attended St. Francis College for two years. On April 19, 1958, she married Richard D. Sikora in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Chicago.
Over the years, Lucille was blessed to live in Westchester, Downers Grove, Hong Kong, Lemont and most recently at Carillon Lakes, Crest Hill.
She was a Residential Real Estate agent with Rich Port Realty for four years.
Lucille was a member of St. Ambrose & St. Anne Parish, Saints Cyril & Methodius Parish, Lemont – Our Lady of Altar & Rosary Society, Lemont friendship Garden Club, St. Joseph Prayer Group and a Third Order of the lay Franciscans. For many years, Lucille served as an extraordinary minister having distributed the Eucharist to many parishioners of Saints Cyril & Methodius who were homebound.
In Lucille’s free time she enjoyed praying the Rosary, reading, being involved in book clubs, gardening, and music. Her greatest joy was being with her family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, Richard D. Sikora; loving children, Richard G. (Yun-Ho) Sikora, Jeanine (John) Jelinek and Anthony (Mary) Sikora; grandchildren, Elizabeth Sikora (Paul Albarano), Danielle Sikora, David (Bre) Jelinek, Jessica Jelinek and Lily Sikora; niece, Nicole (Thomas) Bullock. Lucille was blessed with many loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and people who loved her. She was a treasured friend of many.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Angeline Braccolino; her brother Nick Braccolino and her grandparents.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Road, Joliet, IL 60435.
Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. with prayers in the funeral home chapel, then processing to St. Ambrose & St. Anne Parish, 1705 Burry Circle Drive – Crest Hill, IL 60403, for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Theodore Weitzel officiating.
Lucille will be laid to rest in the Mausoleum at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 West 111th Street, Alsip, IL.
