 Age 80 of Joliet, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Ascension Villa Franciscan. Born August 20, 1944 in Marvell, Arkansas, Mattie was a daughter of Oscar and Freddie Mae (Née Hachett) Holliday. 

She was raised in Arkansas and graduated from MM Tate I High School in Marvell, AK. 

Mattie worked as a Unit Clerk for the University of Illinois Hospital, Chicago for thirteen years.

She was a dedicated member of Victory Cathedral Worship Center, Bolingbrook, IL.

In her free time, Mattie loved to sew and engage in craft work. Mattie also loved lending a helping hand to others.

Survivors include her loving and devoted daughter, Ramona (Jay) Wimberly; grandson, Khalil Evans; brother, Lewis Jackson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and too many friends to mention.

Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, and four siblings: LeRoy Billups, Rosaie Livingston, Oscar Holliday and Otis Jackson.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of home going services at 12:00 noon at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Road, Joliet, IL 60435.
