Robert E. “Bob” Fabek

Age 84 of Crest Hill, IL, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Presence Health St. Joseph Medical Center, with his loving family by his side.

Born February 21, 1934 in Crest Hill, IL, Bob was a son of Paul and Anna (nee Horvatich) Fabek.

Robert was employed by The First National Bank of Joliet and retired after 40 years of service.

He was a member of the Croatian Cultural Club, Southside Civic Club, KSKJ Lodge #29, and a lifetime member of the Moran Athletic Club.

In Bob’s free time he enjoyed fishing, tending to his tomato plants, and listening to Croatian and Slovenian music.

Survivors include his daughters; Lynn Fabek and Vicki Fabek, his loving lifetime companion; Eileen “Leeners” Kochevar, sister; Dolores (Lola) Fabek, sister-in-law; Marie (late Thomas) Fabek, numerous nieces, nephews, and special niece; Sally Boettcher.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; Paul and Anna Fabek, siblings; Victoria (Clarence) Wedic, Stephanie (Martin) Hotuyec, Ann (Andrew) Shepich, Catherine (Lou) Pounovich, Michael (Loretta) Fabek, Charles (Rita) Fabek and Thomas Fabek.

Per Robert’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

All relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. - St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill, IL,  Fr. Tom Cargo officiating.

Private interment will take place.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Robert’s memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice.

There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home.
