Robert J. “Rob” Stworzyjanek
Age 70 of Joliet, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, August 18, 2021 with his family by his side.
Born April 17, 1951 in Oak Park, IL, Rob was a son of Walter E. Sr. and Genevieve (Née Wisniewski) Stworzyjanek. He lived in the Chicago / Bridgeport area until moving to Joliet in 1955. Rob was a graduate of Catholic High (Joliet Catholic Academy), Class of 1969.
He was married to his wife, Johanna Pacini, on October 23, 1976.
He was a founding member and played keyboards, accordion, guitar and bass for a number of local bands including “Main Event.”
Alongside his late wife, Johanna as lead vocalist, they performed at countless wedding receptions and at local night clubs for over 20 years.
Rob retired as a computer programmer from Insuresoft Company after 20 years of dedicated service.
He was an avid bowler for many years, having bowled a 299 in 2006 and a 300 game in 2007.
In Rob’s free time, he enjoyed building and collecting model trains and airplanes.
Survivors include his loving and devoted daughters; Jenna M. (Jeffrey Parker) Stworzyjanek and Nicole M. Stworzyjanek; loving “Papa” to Wade Stworzyjanek, siblings; Fran (Jim) Squillace and Diana (Ron) Sytar, longtime friends; Jerry and Cori Drauden, Megan Veerman and Robert Drauden. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Rob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 28 years; Johanna (Née Pacini) Stworzyjanek (2004), his parents; Walter E, Sr. (1986) and Genevieve (2003) Stworzyjanek and brother; Walter “Rusty” Stworzyjanek, Jr (2003).
A special thanks to the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice, Joliet for their assistance and support shown to Rob and his family.
Visitation and video tribute will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Road, Joliet, IL 60435.
A Celebration of Life for Rob will follow on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Rob will be laid to rest next to his wife in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL.
