Age 75 of Crest Hill, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 with family by her side.
Born January 2, 1949 in Chicago, IL, Rose was a daughter of Walter and Helen (Née Adamowicz) Wojcik.
She was raised in the Chicago area and graduated from Josephinum Academy Girls’ high school in Chicago. On August 23, 1969, Rose married Gary A. Walsh in St. Alphonse Church on Wellington Avenue in Chicago and they moved to Joliet and raised two children.
Gary and Rose owned and operated a data entry company from in their home. Rose worked in the evenings in order to spend time during the day while being attentive to her children as they were growing up.
Rose enjoyed visiting the casinos, playing bingo and doing puzzles.
First and foremost, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Kimberly (Daniel) Stafford and Brian (Natalia) Walsh; grandchildren, Amaya Stafford, Amy (Nick) Aranda, Vinnie, Brianna and Ethan Walsh; great-grandson, Mason; sister, Joanne Weber and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rose was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Gary A. Walsh; her parents, Walter and Helen Wojcik; brother-in-law, Wally Weber and niece, Babette “Babs” (Née Weber) Custodio.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Road, Joliet, IL 60435.
A visitation will also be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
A Catholic funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Anthony Nyamai officiating.
Rose will be laid to rest beside her husband in Woodlawn Memorial Park Joliet, IL.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Rose’s memory to The American Diabetes Association - P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 / diabetes.org would be appreciated.
