Theresa M. Stanley

Age 76 of LaPorte, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Brickyard Healthcare in LaPorte, IN.

Born April 19, 1948, in Chicago, IL, Theresa was a daughter of Anton J. and Margaret C. (Née Hoffman) Chmielewski. She was raised on the southside of Chicago in the Englewood area and married Jerry Stanley in 1986.

She worked for Weber’s Bakery and retired after 25 years of dedicated service.

In her free time, Theresa enjoyed traveling and going to casinos and playing slot machines. 

She cherished spending most of her time being with her loving family.

Survivors include her nephews, Joseph Vorrier III and Jason (Kristen) Vorrier; brother-in-law, Joseph Vorrier, Jr.; great nieces, Sierra and Misty Vorrier; stepchildren, Kimberly Pelletier and Matthew Stanley; and step-grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Stanley.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Jerry Stanley; her parents, Anton and Margaret Chmielewski and sister, Kathleen Vorrier. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 13,2024 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 2650 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL., with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Robin Caldwell, officiating.

Theresa will be laid to rest beside her husband at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
